Mistress of the Hunt was my first character to paint for Norsgard. It was already designed and painted by two different artists so I tried to get a middle point between what they did. My first sketches were trying to catch a good pose for sculpting and I had really fun with them. I have to say that I need to do more anatomy studies, I tend to paint everything from memory and sometimes I miss painting and drawing from life as I did in my days at the university.
After deciding which option we will use for final art, I started to fill with values and quickly apply color. Sometimes I delay color step a little bit more, I learned this past years that I feel better working in greyscale and leave color as another part of the job. I didn’t save enough steps for this illustration, sorry, but I hope you enjoy it.
